Blueberries
Sunny Valley has a
well-established blueberry program in New Jersey and is working towards sourcing
from other North American growing regions.
We are the exclusive sales agent for the Jersey Fruit label and
market New Jersey blueberries from mid June through early August. The primary
product is the 12-pint clamshell pack, but we have diversified into other
clamshell packs, including ½ pints, 18 oz., quarts, 2-pound, and 2.75-pound. We
also have a well-established organic program in New Jersey that includes ½-pint and pint
clamshell packs.
We work closely with the
Jersey Fruit cooperative and its growers to maintain a high quality product. The
cooperative has strict product grade standards, product cooling and handling
standards, a comprehensive quality assurance program, as well as a
food safety program that
includes third-party audits.
Stone Fruit - Eastern Peaches & Nectarines
Sunny Valley has a
comprehensive eastern peach program that includes production from South
Carolina and New Jersey. We market peaches from mid May
through mid to late September. Our standard pack is a ½-bushel volume fill pack
but in recent years we have diversified into many types of specialty packs
including tray packs, clamshell packs, and other pack configurations. White
peaches and nectarines are available from our New Jersey shipping points from
mid July through mid September.
We are the exclusive sales
agent for the following growers, labels, and shipping points: Cotton Hope Farms, Cotton Hope label, Monetta, South Carolina; Jersey
Fruit Cooperative, Jersey Fruit label, Glassboro, New Jersey; Larchmont Farms,
Just Picked label, Elmer, New Jersey. All specialty packs are under the Atlantic
Sunrise label and are offered from all shipping points. All labels are packed with GS1 Databar
PLUs.
These labels are
well-recognized labels in the industry and knowledgeable growers and packers
back them. The Atlantic Sunrise label is the first eastern stone fruit label
that can offer product from all of the major shipping points in the eastern
stone fruit industry. Packing is conducted at facilities with the latest
equipment for handling stone fruit and all farms and facilities have food safety
programs that include third-party audits.
